The Nutcracker

Over the past couple of years Helena & I have fallen in love with the idea of telling stories through Momiji. Many of you will know our limited editon Once Upon a Momiji sets depicting Little Red Riding Hood (2018) and Alice's Adventures in Wondarland (2019). This Christmas we wanted to tell a special seasonal story and we became totally captivated by the famous ballet, The Nutcracker. It's a story about an adventure of wonder, drama and dancing on Christmas Eve.

We wanted the collection to have a real sense of magic and so as well as the dainty, sparkly details on the dolls, Helena created a special presentation box, adorned with gold foil and a special toggle closure. For Helena and I (and hopefully you too!) this will be something very precious to unbox and display each Christmas. 

Many people are familiar with the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, but if you don't know the full story of The Nutcracker then you'll find it printed in gold inside the lid of the box.

We hope that this will be a special addition to your seasonal celebrations and that it may become an heirloom to be enjoyed and passed on through your family. You could write Christmas wishes on the message slips inside each doll and read them together each year. Momiji are for memories!
