In 2008 we ran a competition in conjunction with Don’t Panic to design a trio of dolls for Selfridges inspired by our ‘Indulge’ theme.
All entries were posted on the Don’t Panic website, where members voted for their favourite designs. The competition was a gigantic success with almost 400 entries and 16,000 votes cast to determine the top ten finalists.
The top ten designs were scrutinised by a specially selected panel of experts at The Leonard Street Gallery in London. Reading like a ‘who’s who’ from the world of fashion and design, the panel comprised of British fashion super-glossy Pop magazine, Mr Jago – world renowned street artist and designer of Play Nice clothing, head buyer from iconic London store Selfridges, Momiji designer Joanna Zhou, as well as design representatives from Momiji and Don’t Panic.
The winning dolls were created by Yota Sampasneethumrong. Yota was inspired by his lovely girlfriend, whose favourite indulgence is a decadent English afternoon tea. Having studied graphic design in Bangkok he now lives in London after completing a course at London College of Communication.
We celebrated the judging event in style. Here are a few shots of the party in full swing. London Kicks were there to film the event, you can watch their video here.
