Treasure!

27 Oct 11

Right, who's up for a treasure hunt? This weekend we've got four of our lovely Momiji x Hello Kitty mugs up for grabs.

Hidden around the many pages of www.lovemomiji.com we've placed 6 spine-chilling (ish) images of halloween themed stuff. There are 6 in total and you'll need to spot at least 5 to enter. Just make a note of all of the different pictures you find and send the list of them to us at competitions@momijihq.com along with your name and the email address you used to register with the Momiji Collective (you'll need to part of the collective to enter.)

All the images are visible in all the regional sites so you don't need to change your location to search international versions of the shop. We're not that mean.

The Big Spooky Rules:

There are 6 Halloween images hidden around the site.
You must find at least 5 of the images in order to enter.
Entries with fewer than 5 images cannot be excepted.
All entries with 5 correct images will be entered into a prize draw.
The competition closes at 12 noon (UK time) on Tuesday 1st November 2011.
Four winners will be selected at random on 1/11/11 and announced on facebook.
Each winner will receive a Momiji x Hello Kitty mug of their choice, provided we've got the style in stock.
There is no cash alternative.
Momiji's decision is final and no discussion will be entered into.
Momiji will be free to publish the name of the winner and by entering this competition you give your consent for this to happen.
Entries cannot be acknowledged.
The competition is not open to employees of Momiji, our competition partners, or any person directly involved in the running of the competition, or direct members of their families.
Momiji reserve the right to cancel this competition at any stage, or change any of the rules or procedures if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside its control.
The rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the English Courts if any disputes arise out of this competition. The copy on any promotional material relating to this competition forms part of the Terms and Conditions.

Happy hunting!

*UPDATE*

We have WINNERS! Thanks to everyone for entering, we love you. Without further ado, here are the fab four:

Lisa Jayne Canning
Michelle Ishida
Emma Ernst
Laura Friedman

Congratulations! We'll send each of you a Hello Kitty mug of your choice. (Check your email today; we'll be in touch.)

Hello Bonnie!

13 Oct 11

Are you feeling fancy? We are. Bonnie has arrived and she's brought a bundle of girly glamour into our lives. There has been much speculation about her on our facebook page, as the observant amongst you have spotted her in this year's Christmas catalogue from Boots. In the UK you'll find Bonnie on boots.com, she will also be available in a few retailers around the world so keep your eyes peeled. We're delighted to reveal that next week we'll have 200 hand-numbered dolls available here on lovemomiji.com and you won't find those anywhere else in the universe.

Today we're giving one person the chance to win a hand-numbered Bonnie with a game of spot the difference, now you may feel this is easy-peasy child's play, but we can assure you that a trial run in Momiji HQ left a few of us rather red faced. It's trickier than it looks.

So, take your time and look really hard. Once you reckon you've figured it out, email us your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS & THE NUMBER OF DIFFERENCES to competitions@momijihq.com

The Rules (read 'em carefully)

Only one entry per person
You must be a member of The Momiji Collective to take part so please make sure you include the email address you used to register on our site.
The winner will be chosen at random from the names of those who have answered correctly.
Closing date for entries is 1pm Monday 17th October 2011 (UK time.)

Terms and Conditions.

If nobody sends in the correct answer then everyone who was minus/plus 1 of the correct answer will go into the draw.
If nobody is minus/plus 1 of the correct figure then we'll include everyone who was within 2 of the answer (and so on).
Our decision is final.
There is no cash alternative.

Good luck everyone! Don't let this ruin your weekend :)

UPDATE!!
We've spotted a few questions arising about the competition.
Here are a few pointers which we hope will help:

a reversal of shape of an object counts as 1
a reversal of colour within an object counts as 1
an addition or omission counts as 1

Now if reading this is making you want to change your answer and you've already entered then we will allow you to do so. We'll disregard your first answer and count your second. This only applies to people who have entered before 21.55 pm UK time (today Thursday 13th October 2011).

Pumpkin by Candy Bird

06 Oct 11

We know how much you love an limited edition, so here's something rather special by our newest Momiji designer, Candy Bird.

Pumpkin is an edition of 500 pieces worldwide and she's only available here.

Candy Bird was born and lives in the south of France. Drawing has been part of her life since she can remember. She now illustrates books and exhibits her work around the world. Her favourite things are Mimi her cat, custom toys and expressionist painting.

We caught up with her for a little chat...

Hey Candy, how are you feeling today?

I am feeling well today, thank you! It is still a beautiful sun here for an Cctober month.
And I am excited by the launch of my Pumpkin doll.

What did you have for breakfast?

I had hot chocolate. I don't like coffee. And I'm going to buy French pastries almost every morning. I can't do without.

Tell us about a regular day in the life of Candy Bird...

My days can vary a lot. But generally I wake up around 8 - 9 am. I don't need alarm clock because my cat wakes me up!

First I answer my emails and after that I work as an illustrator all day. I work at home and it is not easy to stop working. Sometimes I work all through the evening too!

What would you be doing if you weren’t an artist?

It is a dificult question for me because I always wanted to become an illustrator. But I think I would like perhaps to become a psychologist.

Where do you live and what do you love about your hometown?

I live in the South of France and I like the sun and the sea which is less than 1 hour from my house. I like to live near the city as well as being close to nature.

Where’s your favourite place to visit?

I like to visit the Cathar Castles. There is a special atmosphere. It's impressive and historically interesting.

In the kitchen, what’s your speciality dish?

I cook very little... I don't like cooking. But sometimes I cook very good cakes or pies.

How will you be celebrating Halloween? Will you be wearing a costume?

Oops, I should hurry because I don't still know.

Serious question: Pumpkin pie or marshmallows?

Pumpkin pie, of course!

Thanks for chatting! xx

Thank you : )

Painting Workshops

04 Oct 11

Oooh we love a road trip. Over the last couple of weekends we've packed up the car with a heap of paint & sugary treats and met many lovely people at our Momiji painting workshops. We loved chatting with you guys in Norwich and Newcastle; it really means so much to hear how much you care about the brand.

You're a talented bunch too; some of the dolls you created were simply amazing. We'll announce future workshops to the collective and on facebook so make sure you're signed up and following us. Where should we go next? Let us know!

Here are a few shots of our painters, there are more on our facebook page.

Thanks so much to the magnificent folks at Toyz and Gamez in Norwich and Travelling Man in Newcastle for such a warm welcome!

Heroes-a-go-go!

10 Aug 11

Yep, they’re back. Heroes are making a return and they’re doing it in style. To prevent you from exploding with excitement we’ll be releasing them one at a time over the coming months. This collection of 7 Heroes will be a combination of brand new designs and a few old faves, back by popular demand.

First up it’s Clever Clogs, for all of you’ve who have had your head in the books for a significant part of the year. She’s the perfect way to reward yourself if you’ve been a slave to your studies recently or perhaps you want to say well done to someone else for their sheer braininess.

The new Heroes are packaged in oh-so-pretty, magnetic closure boxes with a ROSETTE ON TOP! We can’t help but feel that rosettes don’t get the exposure they deserve, so we’re bringing them back. No longer are they restricted to gymkhanas and chess club; wear yours with pride.

Clever Clogs is available in Europe and the US right now. They will be available in Australasia in the coming months – we’ll give you a shout when they’ve arrived.

Whether you’re celebrating a graduation, exam results or general hard work, we’re crowning you an official Clever Clogs. Jolly well done.

Clever Clogs is in the shop now!

25 Jul 11

My Girl, Lucky & Birthday Girl have arrived. To celebrate we did a spot of baking and filmed our efforts. Then we dedicated an afternoon to eating the results.

Our three new girls are available in the shop now (coming soon for you guys in Australia! More news soon.)

We've hand numbered the first 200 dolls which you can get here.

If you'd like to buy all three dolls with the same number on the base we've got 50 sets available for you to buy as a trio - you'll find them here, but you'll need to be quick!

So let us know what you think below and if you have a go at baking your own cake pops, be sure to send us some photos (or some samples!)
